The American Legion Post 94
The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress
in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness.
The success of The American Legion hinges entirely on the dedication and active involvement of its members, encompassing participation and volunteer efforts. As an organization fundamentally rooted in the people it serves and the communities where it flourishes, the Legion thrives on this collective commitment.
Post 94, based in Flatonia, Texas, and its neighboring areas, cordially invites veterans and active-duty service members of all ages to join its ranks. Our local members are deeply committed to community engagement, routinely supporting various programs and services in the area. This local support also extends to the national organization, which provides significant benefits to veterans, active-duty soldiers, and military families.

The American Legion Post 94 is composed of veterans from Flatonia and surrounding areas who are active in the local community. Post 94 is a nonprofit organization operating under the National American Legion. Its members volunteer their time and resources for various activities including: putting flags on service member graves in cemeteries on Memorial Day and Veterans Day, providing military burial honors when requested, marching in local parades as color guard, providing college scholarships to graduating high school students and sponsoring candidates for Boys State. American Legion Auxiliary sponsors a separate but similar program for young women called Girls State.
Why You Should Join
The American Legion
The American Legion’s success depends entirely on active membership, participation and volunteerism. The organization belongs to the people it serves and the communities in which it thrives.
Each year, American Legion department service officers help thousands of veterans receive VA benefits they earned through service to their country. The Legion conducts, promotes and supports hundreds of career fairs for veterans and transitioning servicemembers, bringing employers face to face with job seekers. The Legion raises funds to provide comfort items for U.S. troops recovering in military hospitals and transition units worldwide. Legion staff also lobby Congress for better quality of life for U.S. military personnel.
If you have served at least one day of active military duty since December 7, 1941 and were honorably discharged or you are still serving active military duty honorably, you are eligible for membership with The American Legion.
